- Nomad Trailer Boarding Ladder
Here is a drawing and photo of a ladder that I constructed for boarding my Nomad while it is on the trailer. I have found it extremely difficult to board the Nomad when it is on the trailer. With this ladder attached to the upright at the front of the trailer, boarding is a breeze. This design seems to work very well and I think all Nomad owners could benefit from it. - Nomad Table Base Modification
The Nomad table pedestal is a little unstable. I was able to make the table more sturdy by machining (turning) the post to true it up and by placing an 11&qupt; x 3/8" aluminum disk between the floor and the pedestal base. This arrangement spread the load moment over a larger area resulting in a less wobbly table. Be sure to use stainless screws of equal or slightly larger size than the ones you removed and be extra cautious that you do not use screws that are long enough to penetrate through the hull. - Distribute Weight More Evenly Using a Spirit Level
The Nomad is sensitive to weight distribution. More than once I have noticed "Boomer" listing slightly due to a uneven load. When on board, it is more difficult to tell if you are listing, therefore, I attached a small spirit level above the forward entrance. This is the same type of level found on RV&146;s and can be found at any place that sells RV supplies. Be sure your boat is sitting level before you attach this to your door frame. I used a carpenters level and checked several places on board before I decided that the cabinet top was about as true an indicator of the boats attitude that I was going to find. Very little on a boat is level, square or plumb so be careful. Be sure to use brass or stainless screws. Submitted by Jim Palmer.
