Paul Breeding   1993 Bay Hen   Gaff rig   I live in Colorado Springs, CO and would like to correspond with any other Bay Hen (or Mud Hen or Peep Hen) owners. Address: 2516 Balboa Street Colorado Springs, CO 80907-6934
Lew & Isabel Davidson Killybeggs 1987 Nimble 20 5hp Honda   Coastal waters around Pensacola, FL We love our Nimble 20. It looks great with the yawl rig, tanbark sails and the green hull. Our boat is an early model which we had upgraded at the Nimble factory in 1999, and they did a fine job on the work. The boat is easy to sail and singlehand, and it sails flat enough to keep my wife comfortable most of the time. The interior is roomy and we have the sink option for easy freshwater access. We use the 16.5 Bruce (imitation) anchor mounted on the roller. I found a guy who makes "deck turtles" in the red/tweed Sunbrella used by Nimble, and we use this neat unit on the foredeck to stow anchor line and chain-very convenient. Killybeggs is not real fast, but we're not either, so we match up well. The Ted Brewer design is excellent, and the Nimble factory quality is first rate. Overall, the Nimble 20 is outstanding.
Rip & Jeanne Stanwood Quahog 1987 Nimble 20 Tropical 6hp Mercury   Colorado & Cape Cod We are upgrading to a Nimble 30 named Mango, based in Cape Cod.
Paul & Susan Miller Lazy Susan 1987 Nimble 20 Tropical 5hp Honda   Lake Monroe, St. Johns river, Florida My first boat - had it three weeks now :-)
Donald Landis Twenty Grand 1988 Nimble 20 8hp Yamaha   Lemon Bay Englewood, Florida
Forrest & Gina Mark Dorothy M 1993 Nimble 20 8hp Honda   Jackson Lake, Teton National Park, Wyoming We bought our Nimble two years ago and love it. We sail on it just about every weekend. This summer we've started to stay overnight on it. We are finally figuring out how to keep the bugs out. Whether there is wind or not Jackson Lake is one of the prettiest lakes in the country with the Teton mountains in the back ground.
Bob & Jane Wassmer Boldly Go 1999 Nimble 20 Tropical 15hp Honda Whisker Pole, CD/stereo, bilge pump/float switch. Two best improvements: an embroidery ring at the open end of my mizzen sail cover allows me to slip the cover up-and-over the mast using a boat hook; removal of an 8in dia. cylinder of flotation at the stern end of the gas storage area allowed the mounting of a bilge pump/float switch which keeps everything "bone dry". Barnegat Bay, NJ This will be our 6th season and we love Boldly Go. Many of the sailors at our marina with boats twice her size have come by offering compliments (the tanbark sails and green hull make her a unique sight on the bay). With our shoal draft, we are out of the channel within minutes of leaving our slip, as our full-keel friends look on with a touch of envy. Our favorite outing is two couples, from around 2pm to sunset, with a wine/dinner/music gunkholing stop to take in the sunset. I fill the 6gal gas tank in mid-April, use the boat 1-2 times/wk all summer, and transfer the left-over gas to my lawn mower tank at the end of Oct!

Kent Mountford Nimble 1985 Nimble 30 yawl Yanmar 2GM20F Modified the rigging by moving the mizzen mast aft to eliminate extra rigging and by adding a bumkin. Horizontal step added to bottom of rudder to increase steering power. Original Yanmar 2-GM 20, rebuilt fall, 2007 after c.5000 hours. Tanbark sails but replaced new Feb 08 with Neil Pryde International full batten main, roller genoa replaced. Cruise primary Chesapeake, but have been entire E Coast from Tampa, 10,000 Islands through to Nantucket and Cape Cod (latter 4-5 times). I am a writer and base many of my columns on experiences gleaned from sailing "Nimble" over the last near-20 years. Original owner was a Nimble Boats employee. We've owned the boat since 1989. We named her "Nimble" because of her handiness. Nautical miles run as of April 2008: 20,350.

William Carlson Elaine Tyler 1994 Nimble 30 express Yanmar 2GM20F with aquadrive Profurl in-boom furling and fully battened main. Harkin roller furling on the forestay. On the foredeck is a semicircular track for the self tending jib, which is not used when the genoa is up. 4" x 12’ carbon fiber retractable bowsprit that swings side to side on a track. Tiller with autopilot. Depth, speed, and wind instruments. Three compasses, fluxgate compass, and GPS with chart. Duluth, MN I bought my 1994 Nimble 30 express in 2003 from Harold Zigmund. He had Ted Brewer design it using the Nimble 30 hull. I believe the cockpit and cabin top are from a Nimble 20 or 24 since it ends behind the mast. All of the foredeck is clear, which is the way Harold wanted it for racing. Down below forward of the mast is the v-berth with a hatch above which makes passing up sails easy. The spinnakers are in a compartment forward and above it. Underneath are 2 water tanks and stowage. The aft cabin has a pilot berth to port with a water tank under. Aft is the 2 burner force 10 propane stove with oven, sink, and ice box. The starboard pilot berth has stowage and holding tank under. Aft of that is the head. Above the foot area of the berths are storage compartments. To port is an 18 gal. fuel tank and to starboard is a hot water tank with 120v or engine heat. Aft is the propane compartment. Ted Brewer told me this was the only Nimble 30 express built and I have all the drawings and correspondence from when it was built.

2003 Nomad Tropical 50hp Honda four stroke L galley, Origo stove, refrigerator, microwave, and sink. We had every factory option installed on this boat, including the teak rub strakes about 12 inches above the waterline, the 10 inch hatches above helm and cohelm, WC head and holding tank with deck only pumpout fitting, teak and holly floor, sump pump for head drain pan, full canvas bimini, screened aft deck, and hatch-mounted Dometic Penguin air conditioning in center hatch. Ocean Springs, MS We operate our Nomad as a bareboat charter on the New York State Canal system for couples who want to cruise these perfect waterways. We have been at this since 2003, and our clients have been thrilled with our Nomad. Many have become Nomad owners, or want to be. Our website is Cruise-USA and we would love to help Nimble owners that may not want to trailer all the way to New York come up and cruise on ours.
We are members of the Ocean Springs Yacht Club, and encourage all Nimble owners to consider the Gulf Coast of MS for a cruise because there are numerous islands and National Parks nearby. Voted by numerous publications as one of the Top Ten trailer boat destinations in the country. We pull all that with our 2001 Dodge 2500 SLT Long Bed with a Cummins Diesel, which gets about 12 mpg when pulling the Nomad, and 20 mpg without.
