Nimble 30The Nimble 30 was designed for pleasure. Sailing pleasure, visual charm, human comfort and pride of ownership. This hedonistic approach left no quarter for plastic parts, cheap construction or the Madison Avenue advertising campaign that suggests you can accommodate the passengers of the Queen Mary on a 30 foot sailboat. The boat had to look right, feel good and sail well. These three requirements translate into a glorious boat topside, a modern underbody and a boat designed for the human body. Approximately 29 Nimble 30's were built. The boat came in sloop or yawl configuration with either a fixed fin keel or with an optional shoal draft keel with lead shoe and retractable centerboard. At least one custom variant of the Nimble 30 was designed and built as the "express" model. The Nimble 30 express featured the cabin top from a Nimble 20, which is considerably smaller than the cabin on a standard Nimble 30. A photo of the only known Nimble 30 express, the Elaine Tyler, is shown below in the photo gallery section. Specs at a Glance
