Nimble Mud HenThe Nimble Mud Hen is a basic, sensible, no nonsense day sailor with overnighting ability. With only a 6" draft she can sneak over the shallowest sand bars (8" sailing and 12" motoring). Her trailering weight is less than 1,000 lbs and so can be transported by small, 4-cyliner autos and can be launched and retrieved easily by one person. The free-standing mast is hinged for easy raising and nestles on the boom crutch for easy trailering. The interior of the Mud Hen is simple, with teak benches. The teak floorboard by the helm can be retrofitted forward to fill in an area for a very large berth. This boat has all the cushions for comfort and sleeping and the canvas to completely enclose the cockpit starting with a dodger. The outboard sits in a well beneath the tiller and can be tilted up to maintain the shallow sailing ability. There are high coamings for ample back support. This is a clever boat that is very well constructed with hand laid fiberglass in the hull and deck, PCV foam core and positive foam flotation. The spars are aluminum. Specs at a Glance
